v0.4.0 Tutorial and Communication


Lot’s of recent feedback I’ve received has been around the communication of game systems. Therefore I have taken action to improve those areas. Through 1. A tutorial system. 2. More information that is readily available to the player. 3. The initial sequence of actions the player takes is more indicative of the gameplay loop than before. Previously you could have missed some essential components of how to play.

New

  • Farmland: unlocks farmers and peasants
  • A new tutorial system has been added.
  • Indicators now display above unit tabs letting you know when a new unit has been unlocked
  • A new container in the unit tabs showing the requirements for new unit unlocks

Juice

  • Small visual improvements to the “choose your battle” container

Changes

  • The Initial gameplay loop has been adjusted slightly to better show the gameplay mechanics to new players.
  • Farmers are now locked behind the “farmland” building
  • Peasants are now locked behind the “farmland” building
  • Warehouse level 1 upgrade now requires 1 upgrade to be purchased before being unlocked
  • Some visual adjustments
  • Week 1 defence requirement: 15 -> 12

What’s next?

  • Better visual consistency
  • Replacement of placeholder textures
  • More juice
  • Changes according to player feedback
